AMBER

Assessment Methodology of Building Energy Ratings or AMBER is an SEAI (Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland) sponsored project, commenced in 2019.

Ó Cualann has arranged for almost 90 homes in the Ballymun development (Baile Na Laochra & Cranogue) to have the internal air quality and energy usage monitored over a 2 year period so that better understanding of the health profiles of A-Rated homes can influence housing policy for the future in Ireland.

ESHER

Enabling Smart Home Energy Responses or ESHER is also an SEAI sponsored project. Commencing in 2020, this research project involves monitoring of A-Rated homes equipped with renewable power sources to better understand how locally produced electrical energy from rooftop photovoltaic solar arrays can be shared within a small community, thus enabling community based microgrids.

Auto-DAN

Deploying Augmented intelligence solutions in EU buildings using Data analytics or AutoDAN is an EU Horizon 2020 funded project commencing in Oct 2020 and Ó Cualann will be a full contributing partner.

The main aim of the AutoDAN project is to produce a technological solution that can self-assess the interaction between domestic building needs and energy usage in real time and resulting self-optimisation of these buildings. The outcome is to successfully deliver a demonstration project that will validate a solution rooted in augmented intelligence and showcase its replicability across the EU, primarily in domestic buildings.  Research will commence into the automatic control of thermally efficient homes in different geographical locations where energy can be sourced both locally and from resilient electricity grids of the future.

CHRONICLE

Chronicle is an EU-funded project that aims to improve building performance in order to increase energy efficiency, comfort and well-being.

We create smart buildings for ordinary users, so that your home uses the right amount of energy. This will be better for your budget and for our planet. The Chronicle project is a collaboration between 18 partners in 9 countries across the EU. We are a group of companies, NGO’s universities and associations that work with technological development, innovation an housing-related fields.

Together, we strive to find ways to best reduce energy usage and carbon emissions during the whole life cycle of a building. We want to improve building performance in order to meet sustainability targets, and to make residents more comfortable at home.
